About Oi

We decided to name our boats and our excursions after the many beautiful seabirds that make the Hauraki Gulf home.

Oi is a favourite seabird that we have enjoyed watching during many family sailing trips and yacht races.

Oi is the Maori name for the Grey Faced Petrel.

There is a breeding area near Tiri Tiri Matangi Island which is North East of Waiheke Island and they can be seen soaring over the waves towards Little Barrier Island.
